McClusky has been playing and teaching the goaltending position for the past 28 years. As a goalie he rose through the Youth hockey ranks of Chicago and played Junior hockey in Canada before retiring from the ECHL in 1991.

    Darren then turned to teaching hockey full time and added coaching, scouting and player evaluations to his growing resume. He is referenced many time with the NHL Central scouting department, player agents and he continues to work on behalf of his students and players helping them advance up the development ladder.
    McClusky worked for the 3 largest hockey school operators in North America providing program direction for Huron Hockey School, Can Am and Turcotte before branching out on his own. He continues to provide instructional expertise and consults on curriculum changes with Huron Hockey School.
